Affiliate disclosure
Plain language about how Setwave is paid when you click through to a retailer. Last updated September 21, 2026.
Amazon Associates
Setwave is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, Setwave may earn from qualifying purchases.
That commission comes from Amazon, not from an extra charge we add to your price. Buy buttons that leave Setwave go to Amazon.com soft-top and foam surfboards and use our Associates Store ID. The same short notice sits next to those buttons on recommendation cards.
Other boards in the catalog, including Cleanline Surf and Jack's listings, stay in recommendations so you can still see the fit. Those boards do not have a tracked buy button. Setwave does not claim any other affiliate partnership.
How boards are ranked
Recommendations are scored by a documented, rule-based engine against your volume range, ability, waves, goal, and the other filters you give us. Affiliate commission is not part of that weighted score.
Commission is used only as a tie-breaker when two boards land within 3 points of each other on the total score. In that near-tie case we may put the higher-commission board first. If that reordering actually happens, the recommendations page says so. A clearly better-scoring board is not moved behind a worse-scoring one for commission.
What this is not
A recommendation is not a guarantee that a board will fit you, be in stock, or match the price you see after you leave Setwave. Retailers control their own checkout, inventory, and return policies. Setwave is not the seller.
For the volume math itself, see the methodology page. How we handle quiz answers, emails, and click logs is on Privacy.
